TV USB photo slideshow compatibility
Check JPEG photo playback, slideshow controls and USB support before ordering. Find alternatives for televisions without a compatible photo player.
Preformatted for simpler setup
Preformatted in FAT32, ready for your TV. We format the USB for you in FAT32, a widely supported format for TV USB playback, and preload the artwork. For TVs that support FAT32 USB JPEG slideshows, there is no formatting or file setup to figure out—just plug it in and open your TV’s photo player.
Check your television before you order
A USB socket can be intended for service, power or recording instead of photo playback. The useful question is whether your exact TV can display JPEG photographs from removable USB storage and automatically move through them.

Is the USB already formatted for my TV?
Every Family Gallery USB arrives preformatted in FAT32, a widely supported format for TV USB playback, with the artwork already loaded. You do not need to learn how to format a USB for a TV that supports FAT32 USB JPEG slideshows. Check your model’s USB photo playback support before ordering.
Will this work on any TV?
No. The TV needs USB media playback that supports JPEG/JPG photos and a slideshow. A USB port alone does not guarantee these features. Check the manual for your exact model and test a few JPEG photos before ordering.
Do I need a smart TV, Wi-Fi or an app?
A smart TV is not required if the TV already has a USB JPEG photo player. The collection plays locally without Wi-Fi or a Family Gallery app or account. Some TVs may require internet access to install their media player initially.
Which brands can play USB photo slideshows?
Many Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL and Hisense models include USB photo playback, but support and menu names vary by model, year, country and operating system. Confirm your exact model rather than relying on the brand name.
How do I start and repeat the slideshow?
Insert the drive, open the USB source or photo/media player, choose the artwork folder, and select Slideshow or Play. Use Repeat or Loop if offered. The television controls intervals, folder selection and whether playback must be restarted manually.
Why is the USB drive or some artwork missing?
Confirm that you are using a media-capable USB port and the photo player. The TV may have file-system, image-resolution or folder-count limits. Some Samsung models display only 1,000 files per folder. Back up the drive before changing anything; never accept a format prompt that would erase the collection. Contact help@familygallerytv.com with your model number.
What can I use if my TV does not support it?
Use a digital photo frame that explicitly supports JPEG slideshows from USB. A computer connected by HDMI or an external player with confirmed USB JPEG slideshow support can also work. Check compatibility before purchasing extra hardware.
Will the pictures fill my screen without cropping?
The artwork preserves the painting’s original proportions, with coordinated backgrounds where needed. Use Fit or Original rather than Zoom. Portrait paintings may have space at their sides, and the title and artist remain part of the image.
Is a USB slideshow the same as Art Mode?
No. A USB slideshow uses your TV’s ordinary photo player and may run only while the TV is on. It does not add a matte screen, motion sensing, automatic brightness control or a dedicated low-power Art Mode. Follow your TV manufacturer’s display and screen-care guidance.
Is there a subscription?
No. Family Gallery is a $49 one-time physical USB purchase. Shipping and applicable tax are shown on Etsy. There is no Family Gallery subscription or advertising in the artwork files.
Need a hand?
Email help@familygallerytv.com with the exact model number, a photo of the USB/media menu and what happens when you open the drive. The setup guide includes manufacturer references; your model’s own manual is the final source for supported formats and controls.
