What to know before you purchase.
Is the USB already formatted for my TV?
Every Family Gallery USB arrives preformatted in FAT32, a widely supported format for TV USB playback, with the artwork already loaded. You do not need to learn how to format a USB for a TV that supports FAT32 USB JPEG slideshows. Check your model’s USB photo playback support before ordering.
Do I need a special art television?
No. USB ports have been a common television feature for roughly the past decade. The USB is intended for televisions that can display JPEG photos from USB storage. Look for a Photos, Media Player, Gallery, or USB option in your TV menu.
Will it work on every smart TV?
Compatibility depends on the specific television. Many TVs support USB photo playback, but not every model provides the same features. Check your manual before ordering if you are uncertain.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. The Family Gallery TV USB is a one-time physical purchase. There is no Family Gallery app or recurring fee.
How many artworks are included?
The USB includes more than 1000 captioned works of classic art.
Are the paintings identified?
Yes. Every prepared image includes the artwork title and artist on a caption bar.
Can the collection help my family learn about art?
Yes. Each caption gives you the artwork title and artist as a starting point. Families can talk about what they notice, and adults who never studied art history can explore at their own pace. You do not need any background in art to begin.
How is the artwork chosen?
The collection focuses on European, Russian, and American artworks created before 1910. Each work is reviewed for family-friendly display, and the collection excludes nudity and graphic violence or gore.
Are the paintings cropped to fill the television?
No. Vermeer did not paint on a 16:9 television-shaped canvas, so we do not cut away part of his art to make it fit one. Every painting is preserved in its original proportions and displayed with a coordinated background when needed. You see the artist’s complete composition—not a cropped or stretched version.
Does it need Wi-Fi?
The USB itself does not need Wi-Fi. It is read locally by the television’s photo or media player.
How fast should the slideshow change?
We suggest beginning with 45–90 seconds per image, then adjusting for your room and preference.
